COMET-OCEP: A software development process for research and development (R&D)
COMET-OCEP: A software development process for research and development (R&D) The COMET-OCEP process is a combination of two software processes: COMET (collaborative object modeling and architectural design method) and OCEP (Open Community Engagement Model). In the first phase (RESEARCH), the ideas are spread all over the meetings between developers, researchers and stakeholders. The disposable prototypes provide a proof of concept for new ideas, and favor communication for requirement collection and comprehension, as well as the creation of a stable, platform-independent design model, previous to the implementation. As a product of the research phase, disposable prototypes may provide enough experience and algorithm validation to write a conference or journal paper, a patent, or to abandon unuseful ideas. The second phase (DEVELOPMENT) is inherited from OCEP, and considers an agile-incremental development with 4 cyclic stages: a) detailed design; b) development; c) refinement;...
